A probation officer praised a convicted manslaughter defendant during his mental health court hearing on Feb. 1, encouraging him to “keep up the good work.”

Genesis Collins appeared before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Gale E. Rasin on Wednesday and reported that he is doing well, saying he is following his treatment plan, taking his medication and attending his job.

Collins was also pleased to report that his family are all doing well.

In January 2013, Collins pleaded guilty to manslaughter and was sentenced to 15 years, suspending eight years, six months, and four days, with five years of supervised probation.

His next check-in has been scheduled for March 15.
