A defense attorney waived his client’s presence in mental health court on Feb. 8 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Gale E. Rasin.
During Wednesday’s hearing, it was relayed to the judge that defendant Anthony Burris had yet to be admitted into the hospital despite being granted an evaluation extension in January.
Judge Rasin postponed the defendant’s next mental health court hearing until March 8.
Burris, 32, is charged with second-degree murder and use of a firearm in a felony violent crime for an incident that occurred on Oct. 31, 2015.
According to an unreported opinion from the Court of Special Appeals of Maryland, Burris was arrested in connection to the shooting death of 31-year-old Earl Burton on the 1100 block of Laurens Street.
A mistrial was declared in Burris 2017 trial.
