On Jan. 4, Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Gale E. Rasin granted a mental health evaluation extension for a murder defendant as requested by the Department of Health.
Judge Rasin informed the court that Anthony Burris is still waiting to be admitted to the mental facilities hospital. She stated for the record that the Department of Health had requested a 30-day extension.
Burris, 32, is charged with second-degree murder and the use of a firearm during a felony violent crime in connection to the fatal shooting of 31-year-old Earl Burton on Oct. 31, 2015.
According to WBAL TV, on the day of the incident, officers were called to the 1100 block of Laurens for reports of a shooting. On arrival, officers found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound.
