A prosecutor with the Baltimore City State’s Attorney’s Office informed a Circuit Court judge on Jan. 9 that there is currently no plea offer in the case against defendant Carlos Pearson, who is accused of shooting 23-year-old Quincy Harris five times and hiding Harris’ body in a car.
Pearson is charged with second-degree murder, firearm use in a felony violent crime, in addition to altering physical evidence and disposing of a body.
During a pre-trial conference, Pearson, 26, appeared with his defense attorney, John Cox, before Judge Melissa Phinn, as counsel confirmed that the discovery process was complete. Counsel then agreed to return to reception court on Feb. 10 to further discuss the case.
According to CBS Baltimore, Harris and Cox went to the Baltimore Police Department (BPD), where the defendant told detectives what happened inside a house on the 1900 block of Griffis Avenue on Sept. 25, 2022. Pearson and Harris were allegedly fighting over a gun, which Pearson was able to get before shooting the victim in the kitchen.
After the shooting, the defendant told police, Pearson cleaned the crime scene, dragged Harris’ body outside and placed it in his 2009 Audi A4, and then threw the murder weapon in the nearby woods.
