Northeast District homicide detectives for the Baltimore Police Department (BPD) have launched an investigation into the murder of a woman on Dec. 4.
On Sunday, at approximately 3:02 a.m., officers responded to the 5600 block of Woodmont Avenue for reports of a shooting.
Once at the location, officers located 19-year-old Jaymyra Burrell suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Medics responded and transported the victim to a local hospital where, despite medical efforts, she was pronounced deceased a short time later.
