On Oct. 11, a trial was scheduled for a 29-year-old double homicide defendant before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn.
Deamonte Spencer is charged with two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of use of a firearm during a felony violent crime, and illegal possession of a regulated firearm in connection to the murder of 22 -year-old Leah Jeter and 25-year-old Kamira Jeter on Dec. 20, 2020.
According to a press release, officers were called to the 100 block of S.Kossuth Street, where two women were found suffering from a gunshot wound. One victim was pronounced dead on the scene and the other was taken to Shock Trauma, where she was later pronounced dead.
Spencer’s trial is scheduled for March 22, 2023, with Judge Gregory Sampson presiding. It is expected to last five days.
