The Baltimore Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred in the late evening of Oct. 17. 

According to a news release, patrol officers were called to the unit block of N. Kossuth Street at 10:24 p.m. for reports of a shooting. Once they arrived a 34-year-old man was found suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the hand. 

The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was shot while on the 3600 block of West Caton Avenue by an unidentified suspect.
