Drug Dealer Accused of Non-Fatal Shooting Held Without Bail

A Baltimore City Circuit Court judge denied a 44-year-old Gwynn Oak man bail in connection to a non-fatal shooting in July, citing his 10 prior convictions.

The defendant is currently facing several weapons and drug charges, including discharging firearms.

During a bail review hearing on Sept. 23, a prosecutor informed Judge Jeannie Hong that Baltimore Police were called for reported gunfire and found the defendant with a 9mm handgun as well as cocaine and oxycodone. The U.S. Attorney’s Office is expected to indict the man soon, the prosecutor said before requesting no bail.

Pre-trial services noted that the defendant had several prior convictions, some of which included drug possession and distribution.

Defense attorney Bryan Mobley told the judge that his client was cooperative with police and asked the court for private home detention.

Judge Hong sided with the prosecution and declared the defendant held without bail.
