Trial Scheduled for 22-Year-Old Homicide Defendant

Counsel agreed on a trial date for a Baltimore man accused of homicide before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn on Aug. 29.

Devon Young, 22, is charged with two counts of first-degree murder, possession of a firearm with a felony conviction, and the use of a firearm during a felony violent crime in connection to an incident on Jan. 27. 

Defense attorney Karyn Meriwether stood in for Dalia Weintraub to represent Young.

According to a news release, police arrested Young on Feb. 18 for the murder of 19-year-old Damond Price on the 4800 block of Lorelly Avenue on Jan. 27. The murder happened at approximately 10:34 p.m.

Price was found suffering from multiple gunshots and was transported to John Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, where he died of his injuries.

Young’s trial is scheduled for Feb. 13, 2023, and is expected to last four days, with Judge Gregory Sampson presiding.
