A Baltimore man facing non-fatal shooting charges had his hearing postponed on Aug. 23 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland.

The 32-year-old defendant is charged with possession of a firearm with a felony conviction, two counts of illegal possession of a regulated firearm, having a handgun on his person, firing a gun within the city, and illegal possession of ammo in connection to an incident on July 7, 2020.

The prosecution motioned to postpone the hearing because counsel was unavailable.

Chavis was represented by defense attorney Andrea Jaskulsky

Chavis’ trial is currently set for Aug. 31.
