Homicide Defendant Pleads Guilty to Fatally Stabbing Brother

A 28-year-old homicide defendant pleaded guilty to first-degree murder on March 7 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge John S. Nugent.

Trevor McDole, is charged with first-degree murder, attempted first and second-degree murder, first and second-degree assault, and two counts of use of a deadly weapon with intent to injure in relation to an incident which occurred on Sept. 28, 2019.

There is a second case against McDole involving the same incident where he is charged with first-degree murder and use of a deadly weapon with the intent to injure.

During court proceedings on Monday, Judge Nugent listened as the defendant accepted a plea deal for life suspending all but 40 years with five years on probation for two counts of first-degree murder. The deal was initially offered in August of 2021.

McDole’s trial was slated to begin on March 7. Instead, the defendant decided to accept the prosecution’s plea offer.

According to the Baltimore Sun, on Sept. 28, 2019, officers were called to the 1800 block of E. Lafayette Avenue in the Broadway East neighborhood around 1 p.m. They found McDole’s 57-year-old brother suffering from multiple stab wounds and Mcdole’s 75-year-old grandmother suffering from unspecified injuries. Following the incident, the defendant fled the scene naked.

McDole’s brother was pronounced dead at the scene.

McDole was represented by defense attorney Robert Cohen.
