Case Not Called for Top 5 Most Wanted Violent Offender

A murder defendant’s case was not called during reception court on Feb. 22 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn

Jayson Brown, 21, is charged with second-degree murder, first and second-degree assault, and conspiracy to first and second-degree assault in connection to an incident on Aug. 21, 2019.

Initially, Brown was offered a plea of 40 years, suspending all but 15 years, with five years supervised probation for second-degree murder, which was rejected on Sept. 21, 2021. 

The trial was slated to begin on Feb. 22 but was postponed due to the suspension of jury selection with the rise of COVID-19 cases. 

Brown is represented by defense attorney Amy Stone.

According to WBAL TV, Brown was arrested for the murder of 34-year-old Marvin Dessaure that occurred on the 1800 block of Aisquith Street on Feb. 10. 

According to the Maryland’s Judiciary website, Brown’s next hearing is scheduled for Nov. 15.
