The trial of a 38-year-old Baltimore man charged with manslaughter was postponed for the second time in three months and rescheduled for July in Baltimore City Circuit Court.

Levar Shedrick was originally scheduled for trial in November 2021, which was delayed when defense attorney Shomari Taylor requested a postponement to allow an expert witness time to review new data pertaining to the case.

During reception court on Jan. 19, counsel agreed on a new trial date of July 11.

The defendant is charged with manslaughter by boat or automobile and criminally negligent manslaughter by vehicle or vessel for the death of Carnella Gibson on Nov. 28, 2018. He previously rejected a plea offer from the prosecution in July 2021.

Editor’s note: the defendant was found not guilty on July 12.
