A Baltimore man convicted for murder in 2016 was denied a modified sentence during a collateral hearing on Nov. 19 in Baltimore City Circuit Court.
Glen Banks, 35, was found guilty of firearm use in a violent crime, firearm possession with a felony conviction, and second-degree murder. He was sentenced to serve 15 years, first five without parole, for firearm use in a violent crime; 15 years, first five without parole, for possession of a firearm with a felony conviction; and 30 years for second-degree murder. The sentences are consecutive.
Banks is eligible for parole after completing the first 40 years of his sentence, defense attorney Allison Levine said.
On Friday, Judge Christopher L. Panos listened as Levine requested a sentence modification in lieu of extension, which the judge denied.
Levine also proposed the possibility of a sentence modification in the future; however, no further comments were made.
