Two men have been charged with attempted murder for allegedly shooting a woman nearly two months ago while trying to steal her purse.
The Baltimore Police Department reported that around 12:25 a.m. on Aug. 28, one of the men wanted the 52-year-old victim’s purse, approached her on the 3300 block of Bank Street, and shot her. The man then got into a nearby vehicle and drove away with a second suspect, police said.
Medics arrived and took the woman to the hospital for gunshot wounds to her temple and forearm.
After further investigation, detectives arrested Jamel Phillips, 23, on Sept. 15 and Tony Foster Jr., 25, on Oct. 20. Both men are charged with attempted first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder.
Phillips, who is scheduled for reception court on Jan. 25, 2022, and Foster are being held without bail. The Maryland Judiciary website did not have any information on Foster’s case as of Oct. 27.
