Co-Defendants Charged With Murder Reject Plea, Get Trial

Two co-defendants charged with murder rejected a plea offer Oct. 12. A trial date set during reception court at Baltimore City Circuit Court.

Rinnorris Flowers, 46, and Kareem Shearin, 39, are charged with two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of attempted first and second-degree murder, two counts of first and second-degree assault, two counts of conspiracy to commit first and second-degree assault, two counts of reckless endangerment, and seven firearm-related charges.

The prosecution offered Flowers and Shearin the same plea deal of 30 years for two counts of attempted first-degree murder and firearm use in the commission of a crime. They would also have to register as gun offenders.

The offer was rejected by Flowers and Shearin through their defense attorneys, John Cox and Julie Shapiro, respectively.

A similar offer was rejected in July.

The defense counsel is intending to file a motion to suppress evidence before the trial, which was scheduled for March 24, 2022.
