A Baltimore man who turned himself over to the police after allegedly shooting another man in the face rejected a plea offer in reception court on Sept. 17 at Baltimore City Circuit Court.
Bright Ogueri, 41, is charged with first-degree murder, firearm use in a violent crime, and firearm possession as a felon in connection to an incident on May 29, 2020.
According to WMAR Baltimore, Ogueri approached an officer at Baltimore Police Department headquarters around 7:25 p.m. and told them of an assault he committed earlier that day. Ogueri also told the officer that he believed the victim had died.
Officers arrived at the location provided by Ogueri and found a 38-year-old male inside of the home. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Judge Melissa M. Phinn listened as the prosecution offered Ogueri a plea of life without parole for first-degree murder. Defense attorney Avie Stone rejected the offer on her client’s behalf.
The case is scheduled for trial on Feb. 22, 2022.
