Man Accused of Shooting Girlfriend’s Ex Held Without Bail

A 34-year-old man charged with the non-fatal shooting of the father of his girlfriend’s kids was denied bail on Sept. 7 at Baltimore City Circuit Court.

Leonard Morris is charged in connection with an incident on Dec. 19, 2020, when he allegedly shot the man. He is charged with attempted first and second-degree murder, first-degree assault, reckless endangerment, and four other firearm-related charges.

The defense attorney representing Morris, Rodney Gray, asked for Morris to be released on home detention. Gray said Morris has no prior violent charges, is a business owner, and is an involved father of his three children.

He also said that his client had contracted COVID-19 while incarcerated.

Judge Robert Thomas ordered for Morris to be held without bail.
