Shooting Victim Succumbs to Injuries 6 Months Later

The Baltimore Police Department notified the public Aug. 5 that a shooting from six months ago is now being considered a homicide. 

According to a press release, Baltimore resident Raynard Booker succumbed to his injuries on July 26. On Aug. 3, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled his death a homicide due to complications stemming from his injuries from a shooting in January.

Booker, 44, sustained multiple gunshot wounds on Jan. 26 around 8:30 p.m. on the 3200 block of Wylie Avenue. 

The shooting is now being investigated as a homicide.

As of Thursday, there have been 199 homicides in Baltimore in 2021.
