The Baltimore Police Department notified the public July 15 that a shooting that took place nearly two decades ago is now being considered a homicide.
According to a press release on July 19, the victim was 58-year-old Kim Allen. He died shortly after being shot on March 28, 2002, on the 2400 block of Garrett Avenue.
The Medical Examiner’s office ruled his death to be a homicide on July 14.
As of Monday, there have been 189 homicides in Baltimore in 2021.
