After rejecting an initial offer in June, Darrien Robinson, 23, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Hope Tipton on Oct. 26.
Robinson was charged with first-degree murder and multiple gun violations in connection to the fatal shooting of Darrius Hines, 29, on the 500 block of Callender Street.
According to charging documents, on Oct. 15, 2025 officers responded to the location of a shooting. Upon officer’s arrival, they found Hines lying on his side suffering from gunshot wounds. Approximately ten minutes later, Hines was pronounced dead on the scene.
Baltimore City CCTV footage obtained by detectives reportedly depicted Hines and an unknown suspect engaging in a verbal altercation and then seen walking towards the location of the incident. Further camera footage and witnesses were used to identify Robinson as the alleged shooter.
In June, Robinson rejected a plea to count one of first-degree murder and count two of firearm use in a violent crime for 25 years with 5 years of parole. Following the rejection, trial was scheduled to begin on Oct. 26 however the state offered an updated plea to second-degree murder, which Robinson accepted.
As a result, a sentencing date was scheduled for Mar. 11, 2027.
