Man Pleads Guilty To Attempted Murder For Greenmount Avenue Bar Shooting

Darryl Spence, 42, pleaded guilty to attempted second-degree murder, firearm use in a felony violent crime, and firearm possession on Oct. 21, in connection to a Feb. shooting at a local bar.

According to charging documents, officers responded to the 3100 block of Greenmount Avenue on Feb.17, 2026, for reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, police located a Black male suffering from several gunshot wounds to his chest and right arm. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he was treated for his injuries and classified as being in critical condition.

During the investigation, police obtained surveillance footage from the bar, which helped officers identify Spence as the shooter. Police also recovered two .45- caliber casings and one bullet fragment inside the establishment.

Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Kimberly McBribe sentenced Spence to 30 years, suspended all but 18 for the shooting, followed by five years of supervised probation.
