Prosecution Evidence Presented in Presstman Street Homicide

Witness testimony focused on surveillance footage and evidence seized from the suspect’s car was presented on Oct. 20 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Paul Cucuzzella on day two of of 41-year-old Tirrell Evans’ trial..

Evans is charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, first-degree murder and multiple firearm offenses for alleged connection to the murder of Richard Evans, 41, –not related to to the defendant.

According to charging documents, on Sept. 11, 2024, at approximately 10:26 p.m., Richard was shot and killed in the 1300 block of Presstman Street. Investigators recovered multiple shell casings  from the scene, indicating the involvement of two shooters. Surveillance footage led detectives to identify a Jeep Wrangler as a suspect vehicle used in the murder.

Footage said to document  Evans’ movements, the Jeep Wrangler and other individuals before, during and after the homicide indicate that on Sept. 11, 2024, at approximately 9:09 p.m., more than an hour before the homicide, the Jeep was parked on Puget Street near Hollins Ferry Road, west of the 2400 block of Maisel Court.

The Jeep was observed 30 minutes later by a license plate reader at Pennsylvania Avenue and Dolphin Street, just east of the crime scene and parked one block south of the crime scene a few minutes after that.

Additionally, eyewitness testimony and CCTV footage showed two individuals running through a park toward the area where the Jeep was parked immediately after the shooting.  Physical evidence recovered from the vehicle further connected Evans to the car as detectives found the original license plate displayed on the Jeep on the night of the homicide.

Witness testimony revealed that more items were recovered from the vehicle which included a cigar and cigarette. Additionally a wallet was discovered on the floor of the scene but neither prosecution nor defense specified who it belonged to.

The trial is set to continue on Oct 20.
