The Baltimore City Circuit Court ordered a postponement in the case of Tahron Perry, 20, on Oct. 13, given that Judge Hope Tipton is tied up in an ongoing trial.
According to court documents, Perry is accused of robbing and attempting to shoot another man on the 200 block of N. Eutaw Street at the Beauty Zone wig store on Feb. 24.
Police say Perry and an unidentified suspect walked inside the store and moved behind the victim around 12:45 p.m. as he counted money.
Baltimore police later recovered the store’s surveillance footage that reportedly captured Perry pointing a gun at the back of the victim’s head, as the unidentified suspect grabbed $500 from him. Both of the suspect’s faces were allegedly seen on surveillance footage exiting the store walking southbound on N. Eutaw Street.
Court documents state as the suspects began walking into the street, the victim followed behind them. Perry allegedly fired at the victim who was standing just a few feet away. Perry then ran away westbound. The victim was uninjured and police found one 9mm shell casing found at the crime scene.
Perry is charged with first- and second degree attempted murder, first degree assault, firearm use, armed robbery, conspiracy to commit murder, reckless endangerment, and several other firearm charges.
On July 20, Perry rejected a plea offer of 50 years suspending all but 25, five years of supervised probation for attempted first- and second-degree murder and a consecutive seven years with the first five without parole for the use of a firearm in commission of a crime of violence. All that and Perry must have no contact with the victim and register as a gun offender.
Defense attorney Christopher O’Meara rejected that offer.
However, a new offer is anticipated on Oct. 14.
