On Sept. 25, in Baltimore City Circuit Court, Buddy Rositzky, 25, was sentenced to first-degree assault, reckless endangerment, firearm use in a felony or violent crime, along with other weapons charges, for a road rage shooting that occurred on the 300 Block of South Poppleton Street, on March 7, 2026.
He was sentenced by Judge Videtta Brown to 25 years consecutively–15 years for the first-degree assault and 10 years for firearm use in the commission of a violent felony. He was also sentenced to three 1-year concurrent charges for the weapons violations.
Rositzky was originally charged with attempted first-and-second degree murder for the road rage incident. His attorney, Jason Rodriguez, argued that the defendant was trying to leave a confrontation with an aggressive driver.
The victim was driving home around 3 a.m. when she attempted to pass the defendant and another individual who were riding scooters in the middle of the road. The defendant caught up to the passing car, running red lights along the way, and pulled up to the passenger side door, where he fired a shot toward the driver.
The victim retrieved her legally registered firearm and returned fire. She attempted to flee the scene and crashed a block later, where she was found by officers from the Baltimore City Police (BPD).
The jury rejected the defendant’s self-defense claim, along with the prosecution’s first-and-second degree attempted murder charges opting instead for first-degree assault on Sept. 24.
