Sebastian Ritschel is a graduate of University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC)
with a Master’s in Public Policy, with a focus on Public Health.
A Baltimore County native, he is excited at the opportunity to keep Baltimore City informed on courtroom proceedings and help bring transparency to the criminal justice system.
He hopes to better understand the public health implications of our criminal justice
system as it currently performs, and to better bring an accurate depiction of Baltimore
and her people to the Baltimore Witness’s audience.
Through this internship, Sebastian hopes to better understand the intersection of public
health/safety and the criminal justice system, and how to apply that knowledge to a
future career in public health and policy.
