Jasimanae Newman is a senior at the University of Baltimore majoring in criminal justice with a certification in crime scene investigation.
Jasimanae’s long-term goals within the criminal justice and court systems are to grant justice to victims and their loved ones and contribute to the accuracy of both systems.
As Jasimanae looked for an internship to close out her undergraduate journey, she stumbled upon Baltimore Witness. The organization’s goals of transparency, accountability, and accuracy in court proceedings and the justice system align closely with her long-term objectives. She hopes to gain a deeper understanding of court proceedings, the criminal justice system, and investigative journalism during her time at the internship.
