Non-Fatal Shooting

Mount Vernon Shooting Ruled Self-Inflicted

The Baltimore Police Department (BPD) announced an update regarding a shooting that occurred earlier this year in the Central District.

On March 8, at approximately 3:24 a.m., officers responded to the 800 block of Guilford Avenue to investigate a report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers located a 40-year-old man who had been shot in the upper torso. The victim was transported to an area hospital and was initially listed in serious condition.

While investigating the incident, Central District detectives learned the victim was shot following a verbal dispute.

The shooting has since been ruled self-inflicted, and has been removed from the yearly non-fatal shooting count.
