Road Rage Defendant Enters Alford Plea for Firearm Charge

Jayden Morrison, 20, pleaded guilty on April 15 to using a firearm in a shooting that occurred last October in Washington Hill.

Though Morrison was initially scheduled to begin trial that day before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Erik S. Atas, the plea cut proceedings short. Morrison agreed to an Alford plea, which allows a defendant to accept a conviction and sentence while still denying guilt and maintaining their innocence.

He initially faced additional charges of attempted first-degree murder, assault, and reckless endangerment, as well as numerous firearm violations in connection to the shooting, which occurred Oct. 29, 2025. Charging documents state the assault occurred after a traffic dispute on the 1400 block of E. Lombard Street.

Morrison’s disposition hearing has been set for  May 4 before Judge Atas.
