The Baltimore Police Department (BPD) announced a shooting investigation in the Western District.
On Feb. 12, at approximately 10:29 p.m., Western District officers responded to a residence in the 700 block of Wilbron Avenue for a reported shooting.
Officers located a 3-year-old boy inside, suffering from a gunshot wound to his ankle. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
While investigating the incident, Western District shooting detectives learned the victim accidentally shot himself.
