Third Trial Postponement For Teen Defendant in Fells Point Shooting

Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland granted third postponement in 19-year-old Anthony Berry’s case on Dec. 2 after learning the lead detective is dealing with a family medical emergency.

Berry is charged with attempted murder, assault, and multiple firearm violations for his alleged involvement in a Fells Point neighborhood shooting that occurred last February.

Defense attorney Natalie Finegar did not oppose the postponement, stating she understood the severity of the detective’s emergency. However, she requested the trial be rescheduled to a sooner date, noting the “ case has some age on it.”

Judge Copeland agreed to postpone the trial after hearing from both parties.
Berry is now set to stand trial on Jan. 12, 2026 before Judge Robert K. Taylor.
