Co-defendants Accept Plea Deal in North Central Avenue Shooting

Ronald Hogg III, 20, and Anthony Brown, 18, pleaded guilty to robbery with a dangerous weapon and the use of a handgun in a violent crime before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Jeffery M. Geller on Dec. 1.

The co-defendants were charged with attempted first- and second-degree murder, assault, armed robbery, and multiple firearm-related offenses regarding their involvement in a March 11 shooting on the 1000 block of N. Central Avenue.

Surveillance footage from the crime scene revealed Hogg and Brown approached the victim as he sat in his silver Honda Accord. Hogg was captured entering the passenger side door and appearing to have a discussion with the victim. Brown then pulled the victim out of the vehicle through the driver’s side door, and the victim was seen limping from a gunshot wound to his right leg as he fled the scene.

Hogg and Brown were ultimately sentenced to 15 years, suspending all but five years without parole. The maximum sentence for the two charges is 20 years. Both co-defendants will be required to register as gun offenders upon release and maintain no contact with the victim.
