Trial Set For Alleged Marshall Street Killer

Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland set a July 21 trial date for murder suspect Dallas Bishop, 24, on April 17.

Bishop is charged with first-degree murder and assault, firearm use in a and felony or violent crime, having a loaded handgun on his person, and discharging a firearm in connection to the Sept. 21, 2024 fatal shooting of Christian Leight, 24. The incident occurred at approximately 1:42 a.m. in the 1100 block of Marshall Street.

According to charging documents, investigators recovered video footage of a suspect identified as Bishop suspect shooting Leight multiple times.

Leight was transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center for treatment and succumbed to his injuries at approximately  2:23 p.m. the same day. Medical examiners say the cause of death was homicide due to gunshot wounds.

Investigators recovered surveillance camera footage allegedly showing Bishop before, during, and after the shooting, and anonymous tippers identified him as the shooter.
