A 41-year-old defendant received his new trial date before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Dana M. Middleton.

Joseph White III is charged with second-degree murder, involuntary manslaughter and first- and second-degree assault for an incident on April 12, 2023.

During the hearing on Oct. 15, White’s stand-in attorney Andrea Jaskulsky requested the trial be postponed due to his attorney James Sweeting III not being able to represent him during Tuesday’s hearing.

Judge Middleton scheduled the new trial date for Jan. 20, 2025.
According to a Baltimore Police Department (BPD) press release, White allegedly pushed 28-year-old Christopher Foster onto subway tracks on the 700 block of East Baltimore Street, electrocuting him. The police later found Foster deceased at the scene.
