A 38-year-old attempted murder defendant was sentenced in Baltimore City Circuit Court for his involvement in a December 2023 shooting on Oct. 9.

Defendant William Harris, represented by defense attorney Jason Rodriguez, was convicted of 10 charges Aug. 20 despite his attorney’s self-defense argument. Though five shots were fired during the incident on the intersection of 32nd Street and Greenmount Avenue, the victim was uninjured.

Judge Cynthia H. Jones sentenced Harris to 10 years for attempted manslaughter, a consecutive 20 year sentence for firearm use in a felony violent crime, five consecutive years for reckless endangerment, five consecutive years for illegal possession of a regulated firearm, a single consecutive year for illegal possession of ammunition and another consecutive year for discharging a firearm. Total, he will serve 42 years.
