Spelman Road Shooting Victim Dies

On Sept. 16, at around 7:40 p.m., Baltimore Police Department officers responded to the 2700 block of Spelman Road to investigate a call for a discharging. 

Upon arrival, officers canvassed the area and discovered an unresponsive, unidentified male suffering from numerous life-threatening gunshot wounds in the rear of the 2700 block of Spelman Road. Medics responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased. Homicide detectives were notified and assumed control over this investigation. The Medical Examiner’s Office was notified and will take possession of the victim’s body to conduct an autopsy.

Update: The victim in this case has been identified as 38-year-old Melvin Sheppard.
