In a reception court hearing on Aug.19 before Baltimore City Circuit Judge Melissa Copeland, a trial date was set for a murder suspect.

According to a release from the Baltimore Police Department, (BPD), Antonio Bardney, 24, is accused of first-degree murder and robbery in relation to the death of 60-year-old Victorino Malabayabas, who died on Aug. 23, 2022, after being assaulted and robbed on Aug. 20, 2022, on the 600 block of South Kenwood Avenue.

Bardney was extradited from Eastern Correctional Institute to Central Booking Intake Facility on Oct. 25, 2023.

He has pleaded not guilty to the charges and is represented by Christopher O’Meara, according to Maryland court records. The original Aug. 15 trial date was postponed.

Judge Copeland said the anticipated trial will now take place on Dec. 11 before Judge Lawrence R. Daniels for five days.
