Homicide Detectives Investigate North Carey Street Shooting

On Aug. 6, at approximately 3:29 p.m., Western District officers responded to the 1700 block of North Carey Street to investigate a reported shooting.

Upon arrival, Baltimore Police Department officers located a 31-year-old male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body. Medics transported the victim to an area hospital listed in critical condition.

Due to the severity of the victim’s injuries, Homicide detectives will be investigating this case. Anyone with information is urged to contact Baltimore Police Department Homicide detectives at 410-396-2100.

Update: The victim, Brian Batty, died from his injuries on Aug. 8.
