The pre-trial conference for a Baltimore man was rescheduled on Jan. 4 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa Phinn

Roderick Griffin, 58, is charged with first-degree murder, false imprisonment, and theft between $1,500 and $25,000 in connection to an incident on April 10, 2020.

Griffin’s defense attorney, Todd Oppenheim, argued that he is unsure if the discovery for the case has been completed.

According to the Baltimore Sun, on April 10, 2020, at approximately 5 p.m., officers were called to the 5500 block of Alameda after a woman was reported missing. The victim, Lillian Herndon, was found dead “with obvious signs of foul play” at her residence, police said.

The murder occurred more than a week before Herndon’s body was found, and police later learned she was killed following an argument. According to the Chief Medical Examiner, the cause of death was asphyxiation.

Griffin’s next hearing is scheduled for Jan. 14.
