A 34-year-old woman convicted of manslaughter in 2018 informed Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Jeffrey M. Geller that she is improving as she continues treatment during court proceedings on Oct. 22.
Jessica Lynn Lazenby was convicted of manslaughter and four traffic violations in December 2018, about nine months after the incident on Feb. 24, 2018. Her sentenced was reduced earlier this year to 10 years, suspending seven years and five days, and three years of supervised probation for manslaughter, and a concurrent three years of supervised probation for two traffic violations.
She previously served a year for two additional traffic violation charges.
On Friday, Lazenby, who was represented by defense attorney Julie Shapiro, said she has since reunited with her family, got a job, and continues to attend an intensive outpatient program. Her mother added that her daughter is “doing great” and has a “positive attitude.”
Judge Geller scheduled Lazenby to return to court on April 19, 2022, to follow up with her progress.
