The Baltimore Police Department is investigating a non-fatal shooting in the early morning hours on Jan. 21.
According to a news release, patrol officers were called to the 1200 block of Woodbourne Avenue at approximately 3:50 a.m. for reports of shots being fired, where they found a 26-year-old man suffering from an apparent gunshot to the leg.
Medics took the victim to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was walking on Woodbourne Avenue when two unidentified individuals approached the victim and attempted to rob him but the victim began fleeing when he heard a pop and realized he was shot.
