A 22-year-old man has been arrested for the murder of a 44-year-old man on Jan. 24.
The Baltimore Police Department reported the arrest of Samuel Wise, 22, exactly 11 weeks after the incident on the 1700 block of Eastern Avenue around 12:26 a.m., where they found Chesley Patterson suffering from a gunshot to the chest.
The victim was taken to John Hopkins hospital, where he died shortly after.
Detectives reviewed area camera footage, interviewed persons of interest, examined physical evidence and were ultimately able to identify the suspect.
Following his arrest, on April 12 Wise attempted to escape from police headquarters but was quickly apprehended and taken to Central Booking, where he has been charged with first-degree murder.
