21-Year-Old Shot in Torso on West Mulberry Street

The Baltimore Police Department is investigating a shooting in the early morning hours on Feb. 12.

According to a news release, patrol officers were called to the 400 block of West Mulberry Street at approximately 12:34 a.m. for reports of shots being fired, where they found a 21-year-old man suffering from a gunshot to the torso. 

The medics took the victim to an area hospital. 

Detectives learned the victim is a store clerk that gave chase to a fleeing suspect observed stealing cigarettes. During the foot pursuit, the suspect turned and shot at the store clerk, striking him in the torso, said police.
