A 21-year-old Baltimore man charged with first-degree murder rejected a plea offer on April 5 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn.
Singelton Duppins is charged with first-degree murder, use of a firearm during a violent crime, two counts of second-degree assault, and possession of a firearm as minor in connection to an incident on Feb. 28, 2020.
On Tuesday, Judge Phinn listened as the prosecutor presented a plea of life suspending all but 30 years with five years probation for first-degree murder.
Duppins and his defense attorney Landon White, rejected the plea.
According to the Baltimore Sun, the defendant allegedly shot Graham Blake in the back of the head, killing him, shortly before 11 p.m. on the 2500 block of Gibbons Avenue.
Duppins’ trial is scheduled for Sept. 20 with Judge Dana M. Middleton presiding.
