A 21-year-old shooting defendant accepted a plea offer on Feb. 11 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Hope Tipton.
Dontay McKoy pleaded guilty to first-degree assault and firearm use in a felony violent crime in exchange for a 25-year sentence, suspending all but five years, for the assault charge, as well as a concurrent five year sentence for the firearms charge. He also faces three years of supervised probation and gun offender registration.
Defense attorney Martin E. Cohen accepted the deal on McKoy’s behalf.
