On Feb. 20, homicide defendant Darrean Fleming received a June trial date from Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland.

Fleming, 24, and two co-defendants are charged with two counts of first-degree murder, firearm use in a felony violent crime and having a handgun in a vehicle. These charges are related to their alleged role in the death of 20-year-old Amare Burrus on the 4200 block Pimlico Road on Dec. 7, 2022.

Fleming was represented by Michael Tomko.

Fleming’s case was originally set for Feb. 20, but the prosecution requested a postponement. Judge Copeland gave Fleming a new trial date of June 4 before Judge Erik S. Atas.

Court documents indicate that Fleming and others involved wound up pursuing Burrus after he shot at an individual in the group and fled to the 4200 block of Pimlico Road. Shortly after, the victim was discovered in the front yard of a residence with a fatal gunshot wound to the head.

The three co-defendants will be tried separately.
