2020 N. Curley Street Homicide Defendant Retains Incompetent to Stand Trial

On May 31, Baltimore Circuit Court Judge Gale E. Rasin, stated a 2020 homicide defendant will remain committed to Clifton T. Perkins Hospital after being found incompetent to stand trial.

Judge Rasin scheduled an upcoming competency hearing status for defendant Jermaine Sanders, who is represented by George Harris.

Sanders, 32, is charged with first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, armed robbery, two counts of use of a firearm during a felony violent crime, first-degree assault, having a loaded handgun on his person, having a loaded handgun in a vehicle, and possession of a firearm with a felony violent conviction, in connection to a March 29, 2020 incident alongside co-defendant, Deangelo Rogers.

According to charging documents, a witness informed police officers that Rogers was responsible for setting up a drug exchange with the two victims on the 500 block of N. Curley Street where one victim, 30-year-old Kimberly McCubbin, was fatally shot and the other was assaulted.

The defendant’s next competency status hearing is scheduled for Dec. 6.
