2 More Suspects Arrested in Venable Avenue Mass Shooting

The Baltimore Police Department (BPD) announced an update regarding the shooting that occurred on March 29, in the 400 block of Venable Avenue. Investigators have made two additional arrests in connection with the incident.

Detectives have arrested 24-year-old Sha’Bria Destiny McCleod and 24-year-old Deshawn Gwaltney for their involvement in the shooting, which injured four people.

Currently, McCleod and Gwaltney are at the Baltimore County Detention Center awaiting extradition to the Central Booking & Intake Facility. Gwaltney will face charges of attempted first-degree murder, while McCleod will be charged with conspiracy.

BPD arrested fellow suspect Broderick Young, 21, on March 29, the day of the incident.

Investigators learned that Young was responsible for the shooting in the 400 block of Venable Avenue, which injured an 18-year-old male, a 25-year-old male, a 60-year-old male, and a 57-year-old female.

On April 23, detectives arrested Young without incident. Young was transported to the Central Booking & Intake Facility, where he was charged with multiple counts of attempted murder.
