The Baltimore Police Department (BPD) announces the arrests of Eddie Murphy, 39, and Christopher Brigerman, 44, in reference to several recent shootings, a carjacking, and a burglary in the Southeast and Eastern Districts.
Through the course of these investigations, detectives were able to obtain surveillance videos, gain intelligence and learn distinct descriptions of the suspects involved in multiple cases. Detectives from the Eastern, Southeast, Western Districts, and Citywide Robbery units were able to identify Brigerman and Murphy as the suspects responsible for the attempted commercial armed robbery and shooting that occurred Jan. 1, in the 2400 block of Saint Paul Street.
Detectives continued their investigation, learning that Murphy was also responsible for three additional shootings that occurred on:
Jan. 18, in the 1700 block of Darley Avenue, of a 40-year-old male,
March 9, in the 1800 block of N. Washington Street, of a 23-year-old male,
March 29, in the 1100 block of N. Fulton Avenue of a 31-year-old female, and
April 2, in the 2300 block of Harford Road, of an armed carjacking and assault of a 52-year-old male.
Arrest warrants were approved and obtained for both suspects. On April 5, Warrant Apprehension detectives arrested Murphy without incident. On April 9, Brigerman was located inside a home in the 400 block of N. Rose Street during a burglary investigation. Both Brigerman and Murphy have prior arrests to include armed robbery, assault and more.
“I want to commend our dedicated officers and detectives for their outstanding work in arresting these repeat violent offenders and removing them off our streets,” said Police Commissioner Richard Worley. “Through their tireless effort, keen investigative work, and strong intelligence gathering, Detectives were able to connect these two individuals to a series of violent crimes, including multiple shootings and robberies. Their commitment to justice for these victims is truly commendable, and this case is a testamentto the power of relentless and collaborative police work.”
