On Nov. 4, Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Jennifer B. Schiffer upheld a sentence for a defendant convicted of shooting a family member during a dispute on Thanksgiving of 2021.

Andrew Abiola, represented by defense attorney Natalie Finegar, was initially sentenced on Sept. 13 to two concurrent sentences of 20 years, suspending time served with four years of supervised probation for attempted second-degree murder and the conspiracy to use a firearm in a felony violent crime.

According to charging documents, on Nov. 25, 2021, at approximately 2 p.m., police responded to the 1200 block of Glenwood Avenue for reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found a male suffering from two gunshot wounds to the right side. He was conscious and transported to an area hospital. The victim later identified Abiola after being presented with a photo by investigators.

Judge Schiffer upheld his sentence of 20 years, suspending all but five years, and added four years of supervised probation upon release to his sentence.
